INTREC were engaged by Fitness First to carry out the refurbishment of approximately 24 gymnasiums nationwide as part of their rebranding program. The existing blue logo has been replaced with a new red ‘F’ logo which is said to symbolise “passion, energy and strength”.

The design incorporated in these gymnasiums was the first of its kind which is to be progressively rolled out throughout Fitness First’s extensive portfolio.

To minimize disturbance to existing Club Members these projects required a large amount of works to be carried out outside of the gymnasium’s operational hours and in a staged sequence.

Main works included new Signage/Branding, Bespoke Joinery & Retail Displays, Green Walls, Aluminium & Timber Feature Ceilings, rubber/ vinyl/carpet flooring, Aluminium Framed Bi-Fold Doors, Timber Sprung Floors, Instructor Platforms, Quartz wall Paneling, Painting to all Walls & Concrete Soffits, Rope Screens, Acrylic Render finishes and major upgrades to Audio Visual, Air-Conditioning, Lighting & Fire Services and a full range of Gym equipment including TRX, Monkey Bars, Boxing Bags, Treadmills and Cardio.

Other works included complete Pool refurbishment, structural upgrade works, base building upgrade and DDA compliance works.

One of the main features being incorporated into many of the gyms includes the roll out of the hot yoga studios utilising the revolutionary ceiling mounted heat panels.
