Kids Club Childcare Centre is taking up residence within Tower A of Centennial Plaza and the INTREC team has been transforming the space over the past 12 weeks.

The past couple of weeks have seen major transformation changes with the outdoor area getting the big concrete pour. The structural works of the split level outdoor play area have been underway for some time with construction consisting of concrete piers, strip footings, ground floor and suspended concrete slabs, structural steel supporting beams and core filled blockwork. As well as construction of 1.5m brick wall, the wall will match the base buildings existing brickwork and feature a 900mm glass balustrade sitting above the wall and running the entire perimeter of the new brick wall. The wall will be tied to the blockwork for structural support.

Work in the internal spaces has been progressing through as well with construction of partition walls, laying floor vinyl and carpet, installation of custom bathroom suites to suit the children, an operable wall to allow for division of indoor play areas, custom lockers and reading nook decorative joinery, glazing panels, fingerprint access security systems and intercom, frameless glass entrance doors and tiling and wall vinyl in bathrooms.

When completed the Centre will feature an internal and external space including cot rooms, a commercial kitchen, laundry, three themed activity rooms, multiple child toilet and change rooms, soft fall areas, running tracks, synthetic grass play areas, craft areas and reception and administration facilities.

The project also involves a services upgrade including new power, lighting and communications throughout, fire protection, mechanical, hydraulics, and security including a biometric verification system.
