INTREC are excited to have our Aged Care project Little Bay and Dion Barnes, Construction Manager on the project, listed as a finalist in the 2016 AIB Professional Awards for the Interior Construction $1M-10M category.
INTREC became involved in the project during the tender stage as a result of completing numerous successful projects on behalf of Lend Lease retirement living in recent years as well as extensive experience in working within live environments and ability to form non contractual and collaborative relationships with Project Control Groups. The project consisted of constructing a new Indoor Swimming Pool Enclosure complete with an adjoining Outdoor entertaining terrace, extensive refurbishment and upgrade to the existing community centre within the village.
Little Bay Retirement Village, situated within the heritage area of Little Bay, is a Luxury place of residence for over 55’s marketed at retired professionals owned and managed by Lend Lease Retirement Living (LLRL). Situated on the corner of Pavilion and Pine Avenues, it reflects the Pine as tribute to the Norfolk Pines that line the Street to create a tranquil setting as the street leads downs to the water front. Accompanied with original sand stone buildings and relics such as water towers, it is easy to create a sense of the how the area was we founded as a satellite hospital to stop the spread of disease in the early 1880s. The site is located within the Randwick City Council precinct which has a rich heritage. The council takes great pride in preserving the local history whilst integrating new developments into the built environment. As a result, there are strict guidelines as well as DA conditions that must be adhered to at all times during the construction phase whilst completing works within a busy public area.
Congratulations to Dion Barnes, Steve Birchall (Site Manager), Shehraiz Awan (Contract Administrator) and the entire team that participated in the project on their achievement.
